Product Information
Quinoline-5-carbothioic acid amide is a synthetic compound that has been used in the synthesis of diastereoselective, cyclized, and biologically active tetrahydroquinolines. The compound has shown efficient operationally to condense with carbonyl compounds in the presence of catalysts such as DMAP and HOBT. Quinoline-5-carbothioic acid amide also reacts with aromatic nucleophiles such as anilines. This reaction produces a variety of ortho products that can be synthesized into biologically active substances such as antihistamines and antimalarial drugs.
