Description:

Ki-8751 is a potential drug for the treatment of prostate cancer. It has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in xenograft models and to inhibit the activity of angiogenic factors that promote tumor growth, such as vascular endothelial growth factor-β1 (VEGF-β1). Ki-8751 also inhibits collagen gel contraction and prevents the development of new blood vessels in vitro. This drug also has antiangiogenesis properties in a rat model of colorectal cancer and may be an effective therapy for metastatic colorectal cancer. Ki-8751 blocks cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterases, which are enzymes involved in signal transduction pathways that regulate cell proliferation, migration, and differentiation. This inhibition may lead to the suppression of tumorigenesis by blocking signal transduction pathways.
