Description:

Kaempferol 7-O-neohesperidoside is a flavonoid glycoside that inhibits the activity of tyrosinase, an enzyme that catalyzes the oxidation of L-tyrosine to 3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (L-DOPA). It is also a competitive inhibitor of hydroxylation in the linear model and has been shown to inhibit insulin resistance by inhibiting tissue structure. Kaempferol 7-O-neohesperidoside has also been shown to have a cholesterol synthesis inhibiting effect. This inhibition may be due to its ability to bind with the hydroxyl group of sterols or it may be due to its ability to inhibit hydrogen bonding between sterols and bile acids.
