Description:

2,3-Lutidine is a chemical compound that is used in the production of protocatechuic acid. It is produced by the reaction of 2,3-dichloroacetone with hydrogen chloride and has a coordination geometry that is acidic. The x-ray diffraction data show that this compound has an active substance with a carboxylate group and a chloride ion. The reaction solution may also contain water vapor and cancer cells. 2,3-Lutidine can be used as an active substance to produce protocatechuic acid or as an intermediate for other organic compounds. 2,3-Lutidine also has immune system modulating properties and may be used for the treatment of autoimmune diseases.
