Product Information
LXR 623 is a novel small molecule that inhibits tumor growth and induces apoptosis in vitro. LXR 623 has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of cholesterol, which is required for cell proliferation. The compound also inhibits ATP levels and inhibits tumor growth in vivo. LXR 623 binds to the regulatory region of the gene encoding sterol response element binding protein-1 (SREBP-1) and inhibits its activity by interfering with transcriptional activity. LXR 623 also has an inhibitory effect on myeloid-derived suppressor cells, which are known to be involved in tumor progression. This drug has been shown to be safe in animal studies, but it is currently not approved for human use.
