The molecule has a chromophore, which can be removed by hydrolysis and replaced with another chromophore, such as paclitaxel. The peptide is fluorescent and when bound to paclitaxel it forms a polymer conjugate with the drug. H-Leu-Leu-Gly-OH has been shown to have antiangiogenic activity and has been used in the treatment of cancer.
