Product Information
- Z-Leu-Leu-Glu-.beta.NA
- N-[(benzyloxy)carbonyl]-L-leucyl-L-leucyl-N~2~-naphthalen-2-yl-L-glutamine
Z-Leu-Leu-Glu-bNA is a polypeptide that has been shown to activate the cytosolic fatty acid oxidation pathway in Xenopus oocytes. The polypeptide was found to inhibit the activity of enzymes involved in fatty acid synthesis and activation, such as acyl CoA synthetase, lipoyl CoA transferase, and acyl CoA oxidase. Z-Leu-Leu-Glu-bNA also inhibited protein synthesis in Caco2 cells by inhibiting the activity of protein kinase A (PKA) and phosphorylation of protein kinase B (PKB). These effects are mediated by lysine residues and proteolytic cleavage of Z-Leu-Leu-Glu-bNA.
