D-Lysine homopolymer hydrobromide is a protein that is used to study the effects of cytokines on cellular proliferation and the mechanisms of cancer cell growth. It has been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth in vitro and in vivo, as well as to inhibit the production of cytokines such as IL-1β, IL-6, TNFα, IL-2, and TGFβ. D-Lysine homopolymer hydrobromide binds to receptors on cells that are involved in cell proliferation and immunoregulation. This binding inhibits the activity of these receptors, leading to a decrease in immune response and an inhibition of tumor growth.
