Description

Leucomisine is a natural compound that inhibits the fatty acid oxidation and thereby the mitochondrial membrane potential. It also has an inhibitory effect on oxacillin, which is used to treat bacterial infections. Leucomisine has been shown to reduce the redox potential of mitochondria, which leads to apoptosis in mammalian cells. Leucomisine is a sesquiterpene lactone with estrogen receptor modulating activity, which could be beneficial for treatment of autoimmune diseases.
