Description:

Lithium Iodoacetate is a protease inhibitor that is used in the treatment of diabetes mellitus type 2. It has been shown to inhibit 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (5-HMF) and fatty acid synthesis, and increase plasma glucose levels in diabetic rats. Lithium Iodoacetate has also been shown to have anticancer activity, as it inhibits the growth of cancer cells by inhibiting protein synthesis and DNA replication. Lithium Iodoacetate can be prepared in a variety of ways, depending on the desired application. For example, it can be prepared as an aqueous solution or in organic solvents such as ethanol or acetone.
