Lead phthalocyanine is a chemical compound that belongs to the group of electron-accepting compounds known as metal phthalocyanines. It is used in rechargeable batteries, low-energy light sources, and analytical chemistry. The human serum contains lead phthalocyanine, which can be detected by a spectrophotometer at 678 nm and has an emission constant of 2.0 x 10^6/cm^3/s. Lead phthalocyanine has been shown to have a high affinity for oxygen and is used as a gas sensor in analytical chemistry. This compound also has optical properties that are dependent on its basic structure.
