Leucogen is a glycoprotein extract from the fruit of the ligustrum plant. It has been shown to have antiviral, anticancer, and immune-regulating properties. Leucogen contains a surface glycoprotein that can neutralize HIV by binding to gp120 and gp41 proteins. This protein also stimulates the production of antibodies in animals. Leucogen has been found to be effective for treating autoimmune diseases and cancer as well as radiation sickness due to its ability to stimulate colony-stimulating factors in bone marrow cells. Leucogen is used in pharmaceutical preparations for treating hepatitis, leukocyte antigen deficiency, and other conditions.
