Z-DL-leucine is a synthetic, unmodified amino acid. It has been shown to have affinity for amide adsorbates and can be used as a modifier in the synthesis of pleuromutilin derivatives. Z-DL-leucine is also able to bind neutrophil proteins and may have therapeutic potential for the treatment of inflammatory diseases.
