Lauryl triethoxy silane (LTS) is an amphiphilic particle that has been shown to adsorb fatty acids from urine samples. It has a high affinity for zirconium oxide and polymeric matrix, and can be used in wastewater treatment. LTS also has a hydroxyl group, which can react with hydrogen fluoride or ft-ir spectroscopy. LTS is chemically stable and does not decompose over time at room temperature. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy of LTS shows that it has low conductivity, which makes it suitable for use as a chemical scrubber in electrochemical cells.
