Product Information
Lycaconitine is a diterpenoid alkaloid that has been shown to be an inhibitor of the α7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor. It has potent inhibitory activity against chemoattractant protein, which is involved in inflammatory responses and immune system function. Lycaconitine's mechanism of action may be due to its ability to inhibit hydroxyl group transfer, which is essential for cellular respiration. This alkaloid has also been shown to have a cardiac arrhythmia effect on rats and can cause cardiac arrest in large doses. Lycaconitine may also play a role in reducing acetylcholine release by inhibiting nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in rat striatal membranes.
