Rel-(3R,4R)-3-(5,6-dihydro-4H-pyrrolo[3,2,1-ij]quinolin-1-yl)-4-(1H-indol-3-yl)-2,5-pyrrolidinedione (PD0332991) is a potential antineoplastic agent that belongs to the group of receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors. It inhibits the activity of receptor tyrosine kinases that are activated by growth factors and other molecules. PD0332991 has been shown to induce cell death in tumor cells and inhibit the growth of lung cancer cells in vitro. This drug also induces apoptosis in hepatic cells and inhibits tumor metastasis in vivo.
