Isopsoralenoside is a natural product found in Psoralea corylifolia. It is a chinese herb that has been used in traditional medicine to treat skin conditions such as psoriasis, acne, and eczema. Isopsoralenoside inhibits melanogenesis by binding to the enzyme tyrosinase and blocking the oxidation of dihydroxyphenylalanine (DOPA) to dopaquinone. This compound has been shown to have a detection sensitivity of 3 ng/mL and matrix effect of less than 10%. Isopsoralenoside also has pharmacokinetic properties that may be advantageous for clinical trials.
