Description:

2-Methoxy-4-nitroaniline is a diazonium salt that reacts with sodium carbonate to form a nitroso compound. This reaction mechanism has been shown to be effective in the treatment of bacterial vaginosis. It also inhibits the activity of enzymes such as acetylcholinesterase, hexokinase, and phosphofructokinase. The biological treatment of activated sludge has been shown to be an effective method for removing 2-methoxy-4-nitroaniline from waste water. Solid phase microextraction (SPME) is used to extract 2-methoxy-4-nitroaniline from the wastewater. Acylation reaction is catalyzed by acylating agents such as hydrochloric acid and amines.
