Product Information
- Benzeneacetic acid, 4-fluoro-, methyl ester
Methyl 2-(4-fluorophenyl)acetate is a synthetic chemical that is used in the synthesis of polymers, nanomaterials, and pharmaceuticals. It has been shown to be an effective transfer hydrogenation catalyst for the synthesis of polyunsaturated fatty acids. Methyl 2-(4-fluorophenyl)acetate also has carbenes, which are reactive intermediates that can have catalytic activity. It is a proximally acting agent that can uncatalyzed or catalyze the polymerization of acrylates, leading to activated acrylates with protonated hydroxyl groups. Methyl 2-(4-fluorophenyl)acetate has been shown to induce tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), an inflammatory cytokine, through activation of toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4).
