Description

Methyl 3-(trifluoromethyl)benzoate is a surface-active agent that has been shown to react with calcium carbonate and magnesium oxide to form magnesium chloride. The reaction yield is high and the reaction mechanism is mechanistic. Methyl 3-(trifluoromethyl)benzoate was found to be resistant to chlorine, with no detectable change in its dipole moment under these conditions.
