Description:

Methenamine mandelate is a drug that is used to treat urinary tract infections (UTIs). It is an aminophenol antibacterial agent that works by inhibiting the growth of bacteria. Methenamine mandelate is used to treat bladder and other urinary tract infections caused by E. coli, Klebsiella, Enterobacter, and Proteus. Methenamine mandelate also has been used in conjunction with other antimicrobial agents for the treatment of choroidal neovascularization and macular degeneration. The therapeutic efficacy of methenamine mandelate may be enhanced when it is combined with hydrochloric acid or sodium citrate.
