Methyl 4-[(chloroacetyl)amino]benzoate is an organic compound that belongs to the group of triazole derivatives. It is a fungicide and can be used to treat candidal infections, specifically those caused by Coccidioides immitis. Methyl 4-[(chloroacetyl)amino]benzoate has also been shown to have pharmacological properties and can be used in pharmaceutical research. The chemical structure of this drug includes a triazole ring with a methyl amine group and an acetyl group on one side of the ring, which plays a role in the drug's activity. This drug is also known for its ability to inhibit diazo compounds, such as diazotized benzidine, from producing black or brown pigments. The synthesis of this compound was first reported in 1887 by Italian chemist Carlo Cacchi.
