Product Information
4-[(3-Methylphenyl)amino]-4-oxobutanoic acid (MPABA) is a selective photoinitiator for the polymerization of ethylene oxide. It can be used in radiation curing applications for coatings, adhesives, and sealants. MPABA has been shown to have a wavelength range of 320 to 400 nm with a maximum at 360 nm and a selectivity of 1.5:1. It also reacts with dimethylamine gas to produce aniline at a flow rate of 0.02 mL/min, which is optimal for the chain reaction efficiency. The optimum irradiation time is 5 seconds at the aforementioned conditions, which yields an average emission of 2.6 W/cm2 and an efficiency of 86%.
