Description:
2-Methoxyquinoline-4-carboxylic acid (2MQCA) is a small molecule with potent anti-cancer activity. 2MQCA inhibits lipid peroxidation and ferroptosis, which are cellular death pathways induced by oxidative stress. The compound also inhibits the growth of carcinoma cells in vitro. 2MQCA has been shown to be more effective than cisplatin against nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells and has a low bioavailability in vivo. It is also an environmental pollutant that may cause cancer.
