Product Information

Name:
4-(3-Methoxyphenyl)piperidine
Description:

BMS-193885 is a synthetic opioid receptor antagonist that is structurally related to the endogenous opioid peptide, β-endorphin. BMS-193885 binds to the μ-opioid receptor and inhibits the binding of agonists such as endomorphin-1 and endomorphin-2. This drug has been shown to have antiemetic properties in animal models. BMS-193885 has also been shown to have analgesic properties in animal models, but not as potent as morphine or its derivatives. The highest potency of BMS-193885 was found in Caco-2 cells, which are derived from human intestinal epithelial cells. BMS-193885 may be used as a replacement for morphine or other opioids with similar analgesic effects.
