Description:

N-Methyl-L-alanine is an n-methylated cyclic peptide consisting of a pairwise sequence of l-alanine residues. This compound has pharmacokinetic properties that are similar to those of the parent amino acid, l-alanine, and can be detected in vitro by kinetic analysis. N-Methyl-L-alanine is also an antimicrobial peptide that has been shown to exhibit a pressor effect and to increase the lifespan of Galleria mellonella. The conformational properties of this molecule have not yet been determined.
