2-Methoxy-2-methylpropyl)amine is a reactant that can be used in the synthesis of chloroform. It is also a ligand for hexakis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)borane and perfusion reagent for myocardial tissue. The chemical formula for 2-methoxy-2-methylpropyl)amine is CH3OCH2CH2NH2. The reactant is soluble in acetonitrile and tetrafluoroborate, but insoluble in water. This chemical yields 3 equivalents of copper upon treatment with hydrogen cyanide, which can be used to synthesize complex compounds. 2-Methoxy-2-methylpropyl)amine has been shown to have high efficiency when used as a ligand for copper chloride.
