Description:
1-(4-Methylphenyl)pyrrolidin-2-one is a ligand that binds to primary amines. It has been shown to be an effective catalyst for dehydrogenative and phosphine amination reactions. This compound also has been found to be an effective catalyst for the coupling of amines with carbon nucleophiles, such as carbonyls, carboxylates, and thiols. 1-(4-Methylphenyl)pyrrolidin-2-one is able to bind strongly to both electron rich and electron poor carbonyls.
