Description:

1-Methylpiperidine-4-carboxamide (1MP) is an antibacterial agent that is used in the treatment of staphylococcal and methicillin-resistant staphylococcal infections. It is a prodrug that undergoes enzymatic hydrolysis to form 1-methylpiperidine, which inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by inhibiting peptidoglycan crosslinking. 1MP has been shown to exhibit high oral bioavailability and good stability in acidic environments.
