Description

(4-Methoxy-2-methylbenzyl)amine hydrochloride is a reagent that is used in the synthesis of amides, peptides and other organic compounds. It also has been used to prepare model studies for the study of aluminium complexes. (4-Methoxy-2-methylbenzyl)amine hydrochloride reacts with peroxide or acid to form a dehydrated compound, which can be converted into an ester by treatment with methyl alcohol. Trifluoride or benzonitrile can be added to this product to facilitate dehydration. This product is also used as a reagent in the synthesis of leucinamide and hydrogen peroxide. Hydration can be achieved by adding water to this product.
