Description

Acetyl-2-(methylamino)butanamide is a compound that has been shown to be a potent antiepileptic. It has also shown potential for use in the treatment of malaria, although it has not yet been clinically tested. Acetyl-2-(methylamino)butanamide is an acid conjugate of hematin, which is a drug-resistant anion that can be used as a substitute for hemin. Acetyl-2-(methylamino)butanamide can also serve as an antiplasmodial agent against the parasite P. falciparum. In addition, this compound has been shown to have properties that minimize impurities and optimize its antiplasmodial profile.
