Description

2-Methylpyrrolidin-2-ol is an antihistamine that is used to treat allergic reactions, such as hay fever and other allergies. It is also used to prevent motion sickness and nausea. 2-Methylpyrrolidin-2-ol inhibits the release of histamine from cells, which is a cause of allergy symptoms. 2-Methylpyrrolidin-2-ol has shown high activity in hydrogenations, and can be synthesized by the reduction of pyrrole with sodium borohydride or lithium aluminum hydride in solvents such as dichloromethane.
