N-(2-Methoxy-4-nitrophenyl)acetamide (DMNPA) is a potent anticancer agent that inhibits the synthesis of DNA. DMNPA is able to inhibit both the initiation and elongation steps in DNA synthesis. It crystallizes as needles or plates, with a melting point range of 191-194°C.
