Description:

1-Methyl-1,4-dihydroquinoxaline-2,3-dione is a drug that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of diabetes. It is a mixture of two stereoisomers. The first one is 1,4-dihydroquinoxaline-2,3-dione and the second one is 1-(3'-methylbutyl)-1,4-dihydroquinoxaline-2,3-dione. This drug was discovered by researchers who were investigating the antiinflammatory properties of quinoxalines. 1,4-Dihydroquinoxaline derivatives have been shown to inhibit inflammation in animal models and are also known to have anticancer effects.
