Description

1-Methoxybutan-2-ol is a colorless liquid with a pleasant odor. It decomposes at temperatures above 50°C and reacts with both acids and bases. 1-Methoxybutan-2-ol has been used as an intermediate in the production of plasticizers, pesticides, and herbicides. It is also used as a chemical intermediate for the manufacture of other chemicals such as butyl acetate, ethyl acetate, methyl propionate, and nonyl propionate.
