Product Information
- hydrazine
- (2-methoxyethyl)-
(2-Methoxyethyl)hydrazine is a chemical compound that has been shown to be a symbiotic factor in the development of dipteran larvae. It has been shown to inhibit oviposition in muscidae and musca, but not in diptera. The mechanism by which this is achieved is not yet known, but it may be due to the inhibition of bacteria that are required for larval development or to the release of volatile compounds that act as an attractant for ovipositing females. (2-Methoxyethyl)hydrazine also inhibits symbiotic bacteria from initiating growth on artificial media.
