Description

2-Methyl-2-nitropropan-1-ol is a nitrate compound that is a solid catalyst. It has been used in the synthesis of ethyl decanoate and neopentane, which are organic compounds. 2-Methyl-2-nitropropan-1-ol has also been used to introduce nitro groups into inorganic molecules such as zirconium oxide. This compound can be used as a light source for cellulose acetate and 3-nitrobenzyl alcohol.
