Description:
6-Methyl-2-pyrrolidin-1-ylpyrimidin-4(3H)-one is a furan heteroauxin that has been shown to inhibit plant growth. It is a competitive inhibitor of auxins, which are plant hormones that regulate the growth and development of plants. 6-Methyl-2-pyrrolidin-1-ylpyrimidin-4(3H)-one was found to be a potent inhibitor of the biosynthesis of pyrimidine in chloroacetate. Furan ring compounds such as 6MPP have been used in biological screening and biological studies for their potential as antiobesity drugs.
