Product Information

Name:
6-methylisoquinolin-1(2H)-one
Description:

6-methylisoquinolin-1(2H)-one is an antibacterial that inhibits the synthesis of bacterial DNA. This drug may be used to optimize the sequence specificity of DNA replication and to study the biological properties of nucleotide triphosphates. In addition, 6-methylisoquinolin-1(2H)-one has been shown to interact with hydrophobic regions in bacterial dna and to bind to the complementarity region in a ligand-competitive manner. The drug also interacts with the polymerase enzyme, which is responsible for catalyzing the replication of DNA.
