Description:

6-Methylpyrazin-2-ol is an acrylonitrile amide. It has been shown to be a potent fungicide, with a high degree of activity against a range of plant diseases. 6-Methylpyrazin-2-ol also displays a fluorescent characteristic, which can be detected by spectroscopic methods such as chromatography or fluorescence. This compound has been shown to have strong oral toxicity in rats and mice. 6-Methylpyrazin-2-ol is readily soluble in water and can be used for the prevention of corrosion on metals and paints, as well as for the preparation of dyes and pharmaceuticals.
