Product Information
- 1H-Indole, 2-methyl-4-nitro-
- 2-Methyl-4-nitroindole
- Indole, 2-methyl-4-nitro-
2-Methyl-4-nitro-1H-indole is a potent anion that binds to DNA duplexes and inhibits the binding of nucleophiles. 2-Methyl-4-nitro-1H-indole has been shown to be a good inhibitor of fibroblast growth factor (FGF)-2, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the binding of FGF receptor proteins. 2-Methyl-4-nitro-1H-indole also binds with carbonyl groups in vinblastine, which can help produce enolate ions. These ions bind with nucleophilic groups on DNA duplexes, inhibiting their activity and preventing DNA replication.
