Description:

2-Mesitylethanol is a radioligand that binds to the corticotropin-releasing hormone receptor, inhibiting its function. This drug has been shown to bind with high affinity and selectivity to the corticotropin-releasing hormone receptor. It has also been shown to inhibit binding of the corticotropin-releasing hormone radioligand, thereby blocking the action of this peptide in the brain and reducing stress responses in animals. 2-Mesitylethanol is a class of compounds that were discovered by scientists at Eli Lilly and Company in 1979. These compounds have shown promise as potential therapeutic agents for conditions such as anxiety disorders.
