Description:

3-Methylpyrazine-2-carboxylic acid is a model for the kinetics of the reaction of pyrazine with acetic anhydride. The mathematical modelling of the rate equation was performed using a reactor to simulate the chemical kinetics in a laboratory. The reactor consisted of two chambers separated by a membrane, which allowed for the separation and measurement of reactant and product concentrations. The simulation showed that at high concentrations, the reaction rate decreased exponentially over time, whereas at low concentrations, it increased linearly with time.
