3-Morpholinopropan-1-ol is a colorless, volatile liquid with a pleasant odor. It is used as an analytical reagent and has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of cancer and inflammatory diseases. 3-Morpholinopropan-1-ol also inhibits the virus that causes AIDS and has been shown to induce autophagy in human cells. This compound also displays anticorrosive activity by binding to chloride ions and preventing the corrosion of metals.
