Product Information
- Isoquinoline, 6-methyl-
6-Methylisoquinoline is a quinoline derivative that has been found to possess high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) properties. It has been used as a medicine in humans for the treatment of hypertension, epilepsy, and other neurological disorders. 6-Methylisoquinoline has dose-dependent effects on 5HT2C receptors in Caco-2 cells. The compound also inhibits peroxide production by inhibiting the enzyme catalase, which generates hydrogen peroxide from water and molecular oxygen. 6-Methylisoquinoline can be used as the target gene expression in herbal medicines because it blocks transcription of DNA and RNA synthesis by binding to ribonucleotide reductase.
