Product Information
Methyl 6-bromo-3-hydroxypicolinate is a pharmacokinetic inhibitor that was designed to inhibit HIV integrase. It binds to the active site of the enzyme and inhibits its function, preventing the integration of viral DNA into host cell DNA. Methyl 6-bromo-3-hydroxypicolinate has shown affinity for the HIV integrase enzyme in vitro and in vivo, with IC50 values of 0.03 μM and 0.04 μM, respectively. The drug has shown excellent pharmacokinetic properties, which may be due to its divalent cation binding and receptor binding properties. Methyl 6-bromo-3-hydroxypicolinate also shows antagonist activity against HIV integrase by competing with ATP for binding to the enzyme's active site, leading to increased susceptibility to inhibitors such as 3TC (lamivudine).
