Description:

5-Methylpyrimidin-4-ol is a morpholine derivative that has been shown to inhibit the replication of HIV. It acts by binding to the viral nucleotide and preventing it from forming a double helix, which is required for DNA synthesis. 5-Methylpyrimidin-4-ol also inhibits the replication of other viruses, such as influenza A virus, with similar mechanisms. The compound binds to the viral RNA and prevents it from forming a double helix, which is required for RNA synthesis. It also has anti-hiv activities against viruses with different mechanisms of action.
