Description:
2-Mercapto-5-sulfo-benzimidazole-sodiumsalt is a fluorescent probe that can be used to monitor sulfide concentrations in the cytoplasm of cells. It has high sensitivity and can be used at low concentrations. The fluorescence intensity is linearly proportional to the concentration of sulfide, with a linear range of 0.1 to 10 mM, and a linear response over time. 2-Mercapto-5-sulfo-benzimidazole-sodiumsalt has been used as a reagent for monitoring sulfide in solution.
