Description:

2-(2-Methylphenoxymethyl)benzylchloride (MPB) is a nitro, carboxy, and quaternary ammonium salt. It is used as a medicine to treat cancer or autoimmune diseases. MPB has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of cells in vitro and in vivo by inducing apoptosis. This drug also inhibits the growth of cancer cells by binding to DNA molecules and preventing RNA synthesis, leading to cell death. MPB has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and has been found to be effective against autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, type 1 diabetes mellitus, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and psoriasis.
