Description

3-Methoxy-1,2,4-triazine is a synthetic compound that is photophysical and can be used in the manufacture of carbonic anhydrase inhibitors. The reinvestigation of this compound has led to the discovery that 3-methoxy-1,2,4-triazine is an inhibitor of nitroalkane hydroxylation. Furthermore, it was found to inhibit anions such as sulfate and nitrate. It also inhibits nitrite reductase activity at low concentrations. 3-Methoxy-1,2,4-triazine is a magnetic material that can be used for chromatography and as a nucleophile in organic synthesis.
